Lil Espinoza, LCSW is owner and manager of Positive Ascent, LLC. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of experience in treating children and adults through life’s challenges.
Lil has 16 years of Correctional care experience in both jail and prison settings. At Maricopa County she created and implemented a nationally recognized, intensive substance abuse program, which emphasized a whole-person approach to treatment. Recently, Lil served as the Medication Assisted Treatment Program Administrator for the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry. As Program Administrator she developed and implemented comprehensive medication assisted treatment strategies across nine State complexes. In addition to her program development work, Lil collaborated with the technology team to establish an extensive database system designed to enhance the re-entry process for justice- involved individuals. Her efforts have been instrumental in creating an integrated approach to support individuals as they transition back into the community.
Over 14 years of Lil’s experience was in the community setting. She worked with at risk children in a school setting, as a trauma therapist for men, women, and children, and as a behavioral therapist for individuals with behavioral health needs. Throughout her career, Lil has provided clinical oversight for both master’s level students and individuals working toward independent licensure. Lil’s roles have included administrator, manager, clinical oversight, teacher, and therapist. She has demonstrated commitment to gender responsive and trauma-informed care within corrections and in community settings.
Lil has a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Social Work from Arizona State University and is licensed in the state of Arizona.
